Bingo keeps the mind sharp
The department of Visual cognition of the University of Southampton has been studying the mental agility of bingo players by studying responses of people of different ages that play and do not play
bingo.
Bingo unlike other games like backgammon or chess needs speed, adaptation and alertness.
These skills have been said to ware out over the years, but the conclusion is that these skills do not ware out and they do not decline they just keep sleepy if we do not participate in activities which require us to use them.
These conclusions have been derived after the tests made on various groups of people! All bingo players were faster and more accurate in making calculations due to the fact that playing bingo requires visual skills, memory and ability to check off numbers quickly.
Mental skills developed while playing these games are often used in other situations.
Bingo is good for people it combines socializing, having fun, keeping alert and it prevents retired people from becoming grumpy.
